Company Profile
When meaning needs to take shape
A business can spend decades building its capabilities, yet partners usually come to know them through a few dozen pages of a profile.
FreshBrand designs a company profile, from choosing what to tell and arranging the evidence to imagery and layout, so that partners understand who the business is, what it can do and why it can be trusted.

Perspective
A company profile is usually the document partners read before they meet the business, and often the only thing they have in hand when they set several options side by side.
Yet many profiles are made as a list: company history, organization chart, licenses, machinery, client list. Every piece of information is correct, but readers close the profile still not knowing what makes this business different from the rest.
So before choosing a layout or colors, a company profile has to answer one question: after reading, what does the reader need to understand and remember about the business? Every chapter, every figure and every image is then chosen to prove that answer.
For FreshBrand, a good company profile is one a reader can retell to a colleague in a single sentence.
When to start here
A business usually takes a fresh look at its company profile when it is about to present itself to people who have never heard of it.

When the sales team needs to tell where a product comes from
Kingness Coffee’s 2019 portfolio is small enough to fit in the palm of a hand. It opens with Cau Dat, Da Lat, a region called the heaven of Arabica yet little known, and only then moves to the products, coffee culture and the company’s responsibilities. The person holding the book understands why the cup is worth it before looking at the product list.

When completed projects are more convincing than any introduction
For a mechanical and electrical contractor, project owners would rather see finished work than an introduction, so more than half of Tinh Ky’s 56-page profile is given to featured projects. Each project comes with its owner, scope, location and construction period.

When partners need to read about a business in their own language
Office360’s company profile comes in three versions, Vietnamese, English and Chinese, on one design system, so partners in each market read the business’s story in their own language and still meet the same brand.

When several lines of business need to be told as one group
Building on the 20-year foundation of Dai Viet IDC, the business merged construction, logistics and finance into Dai Viet Group. The group profile therefore had to show those three lines standing on one foundation, instead of three companies side by side.

How FreshBrand works
FreshBrand chooses what to tell first, and only then the layout and imagery; the five questions below run from the reader to the printed and on-screen versions.
Where is the brand now?
We start by understanding who will read the profile and in what situation: a project owner choosing a contractor, an importer looking for a source of goods, or a partner weighing a long-term collaboration. In parallel, we review the materials the business already uses to introduce itself.
What really needs to be told?
From the reader and the intended use, FreshBrand chooses what the reader needs to remember in the end, and only then decides the format and thickness of the document.
Company profileA document that introduces the business to partners and project owners and goes into tender submissions
Group profileA document that tells the story of several member companies and lines of business as one system
Sales kitA printed piece that presents products and solutions and goes with the sales team
MultilingualEnglish, Chinese or the language of whichever market the business is aiming at
What do we choose?
From that claim, FreshBrand arranges the content in two layers of reading, so skimmers grasp the main point quickly and careful readers find the evidence they need to check. The 2010 Ben Thanh Land profile turns that claim into an image: each chapter opens with industrious bees bringing sweet honey to the world, and the honeycomb shape repeats across the pages.
One thing to rememberThe claim that every chapter of the profile works to prove
EvidenceProjects, figures, certifications and clients in place of self-description
Reading rhythmOpening pages for those who skim, detailed sections for those who need to verify

How is the profile finished?
FreshBrand edits the content to be concise and clear, selects or newly shoots images to serve as evidence, and lays out the pages on the brand’s grid and identity system, for both print and on-screen versions.

What will really change?
The result to look for first is that readers understand the business correctly and faster: the sales team has a document it can send with confidence, partners find the evidence they need right away, and the next meeting starts from a point where both sides already understand each other.
What the business keeps
A profile needs updating whenever there is a new project, certification or figure, so depending on the scope of the project the business receives both the profile itself and what it needs to update it on its own:
- The finished company profile, in print and on-screen versions.
- Edited content, in the languages the business needs.
- Source design files for updating when there are new projects, certifications or figures.
- A set of selected and retouched images, reusable for the website and communications.
- Print specifications, including format, paper stock and finishing.
Inside a company profile
Thick or thin, a good company profile answers the reader’s four questions in turn.
- Who the business is: History, vision, core values and a message from the leader, told just enough for the reader to know who they are learning about.
- What the business can do: Fields of work, products, services, production or construction capacity, and how the business operates.
- Why it can be trusted: Featured projects, certifications, clients, partners, financial strength and people.
- Where to begin: Contact person, offices and channels, so readers know the next step when they want to work together.

In practice
CAMIMEXIdentity transformation and company profile
When the value chain becomes the storyline of the profile
When CAMIMEX’s new identity was set in 2018 around the shrimp–forest ecological farming model, the company profile became the place where that advantage had to be proven to international customers, who could still easily file CAMIMEX with shrimp processors and exporters in general.
“The world’s first and largest organic shrimp producer.”
The English-language profile opens with that very claim, then moves in turn through the hatchery, the ecological farming areas, the processing plant, the products and the customers, in the order of the value chain. Each stage is proven with real figures and images, from a hatchery with organic certification in 2015 and more than 10,000 hectares of affiliated farms to a processing capacity of 25,000 tons a year.

As a result, the advantage of shrimp–forest farming no longer sits apart in the farms or in technical files, but is told as one continuous line from the first page to the last. It is the document CAMIMEX takes to the international market, where the brand is present in 30 countries.
The question behind it
A company profile usually brings three follow-on needs: a set of standards so every printed piece stays consistent, real images as evidence, and a place to carry the story on in digital.
- Brand Guidelines
When the profile needs a set of standards behind it so all printed materials stay consistent. - Corporate Photography & Film
When the factory, the team and the projects need to be documented to serve as evidence. - Brand Website Design
When the story in the profile needs to carry on in the digital environment.
